Join Malmös mass action camp for a transformative week in september.

Let's disrupt the war machine and build networks of support for Palestine.

Dear comrades,

The Malmö Solidarity Movement with Palestine invites you to a political camp in Malmö from September 11th–16th. Everyone who stands against Zionism, colonialism and environmental destruction is welcome to join us in reclaiming power from the state and capital.

This camp is about active solidarity. We come together to share skills, strategies, and knowledge that strengthen our collective resistance. The program will include workshops, trainings, and discussions on Palestine, global liberation struggles, and building sustainable movements. Schedule TBA.

We gather to resist Israel’s ongoing genocide and apartheid occupation of the Palestinian people and their land, as well as the global systems enabling it, and those profiting from arms deals and colonialist ventures. Despite Israel’s ethnic cleansing, Western states, among them Sweden, remain complicit at every level: from municipalities and universities to tech firms, banks, grocery store chains and weapons manufacturers. Malmö itself plays a vital role in precisely this complicity:

From LIDL, McDonalds, to Malmö Muncipality hosting Eurovision 2024 and Malmö University receiving millions of SEK from Sandberg Development (https://mau.se/nyheter/stor-donation-till-vattenforskning-pa-malmo-universitet/), which is the owner of Aimpoint, a red dot sight producer whose products are used by the occupation forces (https://www.etc.se/inrikes/sikten-fraan-svenska-aimpoint-anvaends-av-idf); to Volvo machinery which is used in the demolition of Palestinian homes (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/03/global-firms-profiting-israel-genocide-gaza-united-nations-rapporteur , https://www.un.org/unispal/document/a-hrc-59-23-from-economy-of-occupation-to-economy-of-genocide-report-special-rapporteur-francesca-albanese-palestine-2025/)

Multinational corporations which profit off exploitative supply chains, shamelessly sourcing from and even supplying Israeli commerce and military industrial complex.

They don’t care who bleeds. Accessible prices but with a lethal profit margin.

However, the local community of Malmö have been an example of what resistance, and organising can achieve. A recent win is the swedish red dot sight company Aimpoint (https://afsc.org/gaza-genocide-companies, https://www.sydsvenskan.se/2025-07-25/malmoforetaget-slutar-salja-vapensikten-till-israel-gjorde-ny-etisk-bedomning/) terminating all contracts with Israeli partners and halted exports.

By gathering in Malmö, we aim to harness the spirit of resistance that the local community has fostered and continue resisting. The camp will be a place to build networks and communities rooted in care, regeneration, and resistance — networks that transcend borders, lasting beyond the camp for further organising. This will be a space to challenge, support, and learn from each other. It is self-organised, and everyone, together, is responsible for making it safe, accessible, functional and cared for.

Practicalities:

  • Vegan food will be served. Bring snacks or extras you may need; non-vegan donations are welcome.
  • Sign up to be a volunteer now https://cryptpad.fr/form/#/2/form/view/epVFhByqPPacTvgy-ABPTU96GHA+8ybDn-6Xp0gmUj4/ You’ll be able to sign up on site as well. Get involved and let’s build the space together.
  • Donate if you can! This event is organized fully a volunteer and out of pocket basis. Any donations are welcome.
  • Harassment and discrimination of any kind, or language that encourages it will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to racist, sexist, trans-, or queerphobic behaviour. For this reason, anti-deutsch is not welcome. There will be a well-being team coordinating around these issues.

1. Why We Are Here

We are gathered in solidarity with the people of Palestine, standing against genocide, occupation, apartheid, and all forms of colonial violence. This also means resisting the corporate complicity funding genocide, apartheid and occupation. We demand justice, liberation, and dignity for all Palestinians, from the river to the sea.

We are united by shared struggles against capitalism, imperialism, and state violence. The fight for Palestine is deeply tied to our local fights - what happens there echoes here. Standing with Palestine means standing with all who resist oppression, everywhere.

We recognize our responsibility to act— locally and globally— until these demands are met. This camp is a space of protest, education, resistance, and care.

2. Our Core Principles*

This encampment is guided by these shared values:

  • Anti-colonialism: We oppose settler colonialism everywhere and recognize Palestine as a colonized land.

  • Anti-racism & anti-Zionism: We reject all forms of racism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia. Criticism of Zionism and the Israeli state is not antisemitic. For this reason, anti-deutsch is not tolerated.

  • Liberation is collective: We connect the Palestinian struggle to other fights for justice— Black liberation, Indigenous sovereignty, abolition, queer and trans liberation, disability justice, and anti-capitalism.

  • No one is disposable: We aim to be radically inclusive. We protect each other and leave no one behind.

3. How We Work Together

  • This is a horizontal, non-hierarchical space. Power is shared. We make decisions through consensus or modified consensus. We uphold this together.

  • Everyone’s voice matters. We can practice this by:

    1. Being aware of the intersections of identity, privilege and marginalisation we fall into. This is important at a camp centered around Palestinian liberation. We all will come from different backgrounds, but we can be aware of the way we show up, how we take up space and make a collective effort to center marginalised voices and perspectives.
    2. Helping each other with distributing the word, and speaking in an equal manner, and include those who might not be as loud, for their input
    3. We listen to each other with curiosity, in good faith and without interrupting one another
  • Accountability over punishment: If situations and/or conflicts arise we hold each other accountable with care. But we do not tolerate harm, abuse, or bigotry.

  • Disagreements are expected: We lean into conflict with curiosity and respect, not domination. If a conflict grows out of hand, we contact the wellbeing crew (pink vests) for support.

  • Respect our stewards and working groups: Tasks are divided among trusted teams— everything from kitchen, to logistics, wellbeing, drivers; all of us working on this are volunteers, doing our very best. A great way to feel more involved, or to improve something that you’d like to see changed, is to try a volunteer shift! (ask someone in a vest for more info)

4. Practices of Care & Safety

This is a political space and a place where people live and rest. We commit to:

  • Creating physically and emotionally safer environments, especially for marginalised and/or racialised groups such as Black, brown, muslim, queer, trans, disabled, and undocumented comrades.

  • Offering our support wherever we can; whether with cleaning up, carrying something heavy, or a listening ear.

  • Trying to provide each other with access to water, food, shelter, rest, and hygiene when possible.

  • Providing a drug and alcohol free space.

  • Having community-based safety protocols. No cooperation with police*, or institutions of state violence.

  • Do not talk to cops in any way, do not take flyers or any other information sheets etc from them. If the cops need anything it is their job to solve it, not ours - we do not do the work of the police! Anything you say to them can be used against you or someone else. We have trained police contacts. If we talk to the cops, they stop respecting our police contacts and will try to talk to even more people. Let anyone who is talking to the cops know that we do not talk to them and why.

5. What We Demand

This encampment supports and may uplift the following demands, among others:

  • An immediate, permanent ceasefire and an end to the siege on Gaza.

  • The full right of return for Palestinian refugees.

  • Freedom for all Palestinian political prisoners.

  • Reject normalization and uphold full boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel and all complicit institutions.

  • An end to all military and financial support for Israel by our governments and institutions.

  • Accountability for war crimes and violations of international law.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

16:00– 17:30 – Humiliation. A Colonial Practice – a lecture by Shahram Khosravi (Enskifteshagen)
Humiliation has historically functioned as a strategic instrument of power in conflict, with gendered, sexualized, and racialized forms serving as particularly effective means of degrading both external adversaries and internal dissenters. As such, humiliation plays a critical role in the consolidation of domination.
The experience of coloniality, in its various configurations, is intrinsically linked to processes of humiliation. The systematic dehumanization of colonized populations not only enforces their subjugation but also renders them perpetually vulnerable to acts of humiliation.
This talk explores contemporary manifestations of humiliation as a colonial practice, with specific reference to three case studies: the genocide in Palestine, border enforcement regimes, and the US-led sanctions imposed on Iran. The focus is not on what humiliation is, but what it does: how it legitimizes domination, mobilizes populist revanchism, and sustains structural violence.
Shahram Khosravi is Professor of Social Anthropology at Stockholm University. Since early in his academic career, Khosravi has been working in two geographically and thematically different research fields. One is precarity in urban Iran and the other migration and border studies of Europe.

16:00–18:00 – Al-Thawabet - The core principles of the Palestinian liberation struggle (Glokala)
This workshop will delve into the ‘Thawabet’; addressing how they serve as foundational beliefs for any true anti-Zionist activism in this climate of Genocide by asserting that armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine and advocating for a free, Arab Palestine from the river to the sea.

For example we will learn the basics of trauma management and do somatic release exercises (exercises to calm the nervous system after increased stress).

After UNs Special Rapporteur Francesca Albaneses report “From Economy Of Occupation To Economy Of Genocide” we know that the international corporate machinery is sustaining Israel’s settler-colonial project of displacement and replacement of the Palestinians in the occupied territory.
How can we understand the role of cooperations in Israels genocide and how can the solidarity movemebt for Palestine disrupt the international corporate machinery?
With comrades from Disrupt power. Distupt Power is a grassroots research driven front that investigates energy production and supply to the Zionist regime across critical geographies. Instigating and activating research strategies and tactics of disruption and blockade. Disrupt Power operates in service of solidarity groups, trade unions targeting the energy and logistics sectors. I am Muslim/Jewish/queer/trans/disabled, am I welcome?

Yes! We will do our very best to keep our camp inclusive and free from oppression, and will take action to ensure a politically aware space. For further details, see our camp consensus page.

We are grassroots, which means we started and grew from ordinary people at a local community level. We are religiously and politically unaffiliated. What binds us together is our aim for a world free of genocide and colonialism, and an interest in a Malmö which doesn’t have ties to those making genocide possible.

We are made up entirely of individuals and small groups, doing this out of our own initiative. This means that the camp is a co-created effort by all those partaking.

The event is organized fully on a volunteer and out of pocket basis. We have contributed with what we have, and any donations to help us pay for costs is hugely welcome and appreciated.

Every donation supports the tools we need to care for each other and fight back — food, infrastructure, accessibility, materials, other practical needs and more.
